Default Spare tire issues.

Hey there. I own a 99 Discovery II. I ran into the rear door sag issue. I removed the spare tire and now everything is working great. Looks like I'll either do without it or find a new location for it. Anyway...Im curious about who others have done to clean up the look of rear door now that the tire is off. The bracket by itself looks awful but the back looks naked without the tire. Any thoughts?

A friend of mine removed his spare from the rear door and mounted it on the hood like his old Series II. I'm not sure if I would do that but he likes it. I'll see if I can get some pictures of it in the next few days.

Why are you wanting to remove your spare?

We have a guy in our club that did the very same thing. He reinforced the hood and slapped it up there. He to is very happy with how it came out..

It's definitely one way to get all that weight off the rear door, however, I think I'd opt for mounting it on the roof rack.
