I was sitting down to order new BFG AT's. I was going to go with 255/70R16. The Load and speed rating is 115/112Q.
But if I go with 245/70 the rating is 113/110S. 245/75 is 120/116S. But I am at stock height, so I think these are out. I understand what the numbers are, I just don't know how much attention I should pay to them when ordering my tires. Any help would be appreciated, as I have decided on the tire just am not sure about this. THanks

Oh, the joys of numbers. I wouldn't loose any sleep over looking at the speed ratings, after all we are driving Rovers, course you live in Oklahoma and have no mountains to slow you down.
If I owned a D1 I would run the 245/75/16 cause they are a little taller and their size really adds to the truck, but that is just me. Any of the BFG's are really good, strong tires and will serve you well. I run 265/75/16 BFG MT's and highly recommend the brand. So take the concern out of ordering tires and enjoy the ride. Mike |

Well, I would like to go 245/75 but I was concerned about how much trimming I would have to do. I am comfortable trimming the front, hell, it's just plastic, and I want a new bumper anyway. But trimming the rear seems a bit more formitable. And adjusting steering stops, is that hard?

If your trucks suspension hasn't dropped too much, you may not need to do an trimming, and as far as the steering stops go, one wrench and maybe a partial twist and you are set.
I have seen a number of stock d1's and DII's with 245's and they look good and ride better. Mike |
