Default Springs, new larger tires & gear ratios

I have been a member here for ahile and I am still trying to undertand something I read here. My situation is I am driving a 94 LWB with the EAS removed. I want with a 3" lift so I am about 1 1/2" over max height if the EAS was still in. It is time for new tires. Currently running Michellin Synchro's 205/80/16. I would like to go with a 235/70/16 AT of some type. Here is where I am lost. Will this additional 1 1/4 - 1 1/2" of height srew me over as far as gear ratios and drive shafts go? This is my daily driver so no off road to speak of. I would apprecaite any insight.

Thanks,

Brien

Per an online tire calculator theres 0.04" difference in the diameter of the tires so the difference will be nil.

Speaking of gear ratios, what gears to I have in my RRC LWB?

i think rrcs have a gear ratio of 3.54. a 235/70/16 is only 0.1" taller, .8" wider, and has a circumference 0.2" bigger than a 205/80/16 so you wont have to worry about gears being off. a 3" lift may cause driveshaft vibrations so keep that in mind. the steering caster will be off so it would be wise to invest in a set of new radius arms if you feel the steering is uncomfortable.

So when a lift is applied to let's say my RRC, and driveshaft vibration occurs, what would happen during highway driving? I'd also think that U-joints would be a frequent replacement part also.

Along with that lift question, should I only consider a 2" lift over 3", for driveshaft reasons and steering reasons?

I haven't done much lifting to coil spring suspension vehicles for awhile, only did shackles for leaf-spring lifts.

Thanks for all of the input. I appreciate it. The reason this became a concern was when I was on the phone with Tire Rack I was informed going from the 205/80/16 to a 235/70/16 would be a 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" increase in diameter. Since I am running a Big Blue 3" lift I was concerned about possible problems. Obviously the difference is almost nothing. The tire calculator was a huge help. The lift has been on since October and no vibration or steering issues at all. Thanks again for your help. FYI - The new tires Bridgestone Dueller A/T Revo's.

So all you did was replace springs and shocks, without removing/replacing anything else?

Thanks for the gear ratio too!
