Default Steel wheel lugs on alloys?

Hi, first post.

I just purchased some 16" wheels (typhoon) for my 03 Disco and am having them powdercoated flat black. I would like to use some black lugs nuts. Thought about the LR steel wheel lugs, but it appears that the LR steel wheel lugs seat differently than the alloy lugs. Can anybody confirm this or provide suggestions?

Thanks-

There different.I have never been able to use any other kind other than alloy lugs on alloy wheels. The steel wheel lugs wont work on alloys because the seat is like an inch deep.Get some and powdercoat them black.Just make sure they dont have the chrome caps on them.
But hey ive been wrong before give it an hr and im sure everyone on here will chime in.

Pull the tin covers off the alloy lug nuts and then powder coat the lug nuts.

What's wrong with the stock lugs? Why does everyone hate on the cap thingy? Never had any trouble with mine.

I dont like them because i blew a tire on the trail once and even though i had the right size socket i stripped them out.So i had two caps that i had to smash of with a chisel and hammer. It took forever. In doing so i also screwed up my alloys with scratchs. They dont suck too bad,but i would rather not have that happen again.
I think i remember them being not in the best shape anyway,Maybe a tire shop screw up?Not really sure.
