kicking around the idea of putting super swamper LTB or TSL's on my Disco II. It has a 2" OME lift and 1" spring spacers. Thinking 267/75 or 285/75
The LTB's seem to come only in bias ply
The TSL's seem to come in both bias and radial.
The TSL's and LTB's both look very aggressive in bias ply, but the TSL radials look VERY tamed down. Is the TSL radial still WAY better in the mud than BFG mut terrains?
thanks!

Yes, now-a-days most mud tires are better than the BFG KM. I do not know about the KM2, no experience with them. (I heard the KM2 are real good in mud and just about everything else too.)
But you can't beat a super swamper in the mud. Keep in mind they were fast like 15-30K miles.

had a buddy run some tsl swampers on his disco, lasted about 20k miles and pulled good in the mud. I went with a mickey thompson mtz 40k on the tires now and very good all around tire, wet, rock, mud!

If you are really wanting swampers but are doing a lot of on road driving then get the SSR's they are probably about equal to BFG MTs if not a little better, and they are a little cheaper I believe. If you are going to have two sets of wheels/tires then get the TSLs or LTBs. I have 34x10.50x16 TSLs (yes TSLs not LTBs) on 16" steelies on a 2" RTE lift and have no issues with rubbing at full flex (sways connected). I would probably get one size smaller though as they are a little close at full flex.
i have 34 10.5 16 ltb swampers on my classic and love them. great in the woods and rocks. i have about 20k on them right now and have about half tread left.. i also rotate them every oil change and that has helped prolong there life.

33x12.5R15- Super Swamper SSR - $258.99 (4WP)
33x12.5R15- BFGoodrich Mud Terrain K/M2 - $201.99 (4WP)
31x10.5R15- Super Swamper SSR - $175.99 (4WP)
31x10.5R15- BFGoodrich Mud Terrain K/M2 - $168.99 (4WP)
SSRs are a bit better than BFGs, but not cheapr by any means.
Do you have any close ups/better quality pictures of your 34x10.5-16 TSLs? Would be interesting to see what they look like.
Because even though LTBs say TSL on them, they aren't TSLs.
(Top tread pattern is TSL, notice the center tread blocks are smooth v's. Lower tread pattern is LTBs, notice the center tread blocks "interlock")

Sorry it took so long, I forgot about this thread....
you are correct! I hadn't really paid that close of attention to the tread pattern between the two. I bought the tires used off a *eeper and noticed that the LTB had a lot of side wall lugs and these didn't really have them and looked closer to the same sidewall as the TSL and it said TSL on the tire itself so thats where my logic came from (PO advertised them as TSL's too).
I am sorry on the price also, I was doing my pricing on BFGs from local tire shops such as Big 10, etc and was quoted on swampers from a real "local" shop where the guy would actually wheel and deal with you on the prices. I know the SSR's are on the more expensive interco end but the LTB's aren't quite as expensive. IMHO, if these are a second set of tires, pick some up used...I paid $250 for the 4 of mine and they had only 3k miles on them with a little rock rash.
Also, if you are considering a NEW set of swampers, check out the Foothill Motorsports guy over on Pirate in the vendors section...he has some of the best prices I was able to find.
