For the $ you cannot beat the Dunlop Mud Rover aka Remmington Mud Brute. For about $100 a tire, they can really take a beating. They can hold up for more miles than you realize. Yeah, the BFG's are a good tire but they are $$.

Yeah....that is true...BFGs are $$$......you do get what you pay for though....they are high quality (havent heard of balencing issues and other problems), heavy sidewall, fairly quiet (but who cares ), good wear...etc.

I have been thinking about getting something more aggressive, such as IROKs for my next tires (way down the road), but I question thier wear rate and quality flat out...anything from interco.

Ditto on the avatar title, very good one!

Well, can't say much other than I have heard good stories about the BFG Mud Terrains, and the Dayton Timberlands. Both are popular, but the BFG's I would lean more too.

Depends on what your using it them for?

Road use, serious off road, mud, rock crawling?

Personally although the BFG's don't look bad I think they are awful in the mud (stupid as they are called mud terains). Every compeition trial I've ever been too you will see the guys running BFG m/t's getting stuck.

I kinda look at them as a slightly more agressive a/t type of tyre. If you want proper mud ability you need to look for a proper off road tyre.

I run Simex Jungle Trekker 2's, these are good, but on the tarmac no where near as good as all terains.

I also like the look of the new Silverstone Extreme (see attachment) and it's availble in 35.10.50R16 so it won't stick out of the arches either.

Remoulds are also a good way of getting off road tyres as they are cheap and work well off road.

These are very decent on the rough stuff and ride pretty decent too (Yokohama make some similar for more money, but they are NOT a remould):

They go under the name of Macho or Amazon sometimes.

Ive run Bridgestone Duelers, very quiet when new and decent offroad but weak sides walls. I ran BFG MTs for the last couple years 255/85s, tough tire, strong sidewalls, and decent in mud. They do clog easy though (not as bad as the Goodyears though). Fact is in the mud swampers rule. Im now sitting on LTB 34 x 10.50 (even trade for my BFGs). On road AWEFUL but it is just a trail toy. I gotta say for street use it is hard to beat the BFGs, they will last forever and you wont compromise too much offroad. Gordo.

This all depends, do you have wheel arch flares or a lift??

If not then 31.10.50 is a good size, personally 245 just looks to skidly to me.

Also do you want sidewall height or tread width?

If you're running stock'sih ride height then 31.10.50 will fill the arches nicely and won't rub.
