Default Tire to big?

Ok I bought some steel wheels and the steel wheels had 235/85 tires on them...but they are junk tires so i still need to buy some M/T's but i wanted to see the clearance and all that...you guys think i need to go with a smaller tire? or should i trim? because i think 235/85 is a good size

I have 2in ome hd

If it were mine I would slap some 265's under her like on my truck, I like the way they porpotioaly fill out the trucks appearance, they don't rub and you have a big foot print.
By the way the BFG is an excellant MT, a little pricey but they will last forever.

Your D1 is set up the same way as my 1995 RRC. I loved the 235/85 GY MT/R with OME MD springs! Any wider and I would have had to trim a bit more than I'd want to. As it was I just folded the metal at the front of the wheel well behind the rear door. EASY.

I'd vote to keep 235/85. It also has less rolling resistance than a wider tire.

I'm not against wider, but with this set up I like the narrower.

You will have to trim the rear wheel wells.

You need to get nuts for steel wheels and not use those lug nuts that are for your alloys

I have 235/85 now and love them...... But here is what I have done... When I had steel wheels with 31 x 10.5 MT I had to trim my inner fender by the back door... When I bought the 235's i put them on the alloys and now have tons of clearence... I love them and they have more than proven their worth!
