RRC Owner in training

Hey all...I'm looking at either Dunlop Radial Rover R/T's or Firestone Destination MT's. Both in 235/85/16 size.
Anyone have any experience with these tires? I have heard good stuff about the Firestones...but only a little about the Dunlops.

I know nothing of the Dunlop's, but my buddy has the Destination MT's in a 31 inch tire on his jeep. They were fairly quiet when he first got them but now after a couple of years, they have gotten pretty loud. I think he has not rotated them as faithfully as he should though. They do great in snow he says and I have been with him off-roading and they kick ass. Of the group we have gone out with in the past, his tires did the best in the mud.
Because of the compound they are made of (they are not siped) are supposed to do great in wet weather on the street.

Firestone over the dunlop's. I've installed both, and dealt with customer complaints on both. If it's the pricing that led you to these choices, you'd be happier buying a set of used "good" tires; over either of these though. Good luck.

I run the stones on my disco and they do good off road and have had no problems on highways and roads, alittle noise but not much and if you get them to skinny they ride alittle rough.
I dont have any lockers on my truck yet and they of course spin in the slick stuff but if you have lockers you should be very happy with them |
