I just bought 2006 Range Rover, which came with two sets of wheels. I am about to change from the summer wheels (22inch) to the standard 19" Range Rover. Since I have no idea how tire pressure-monitoring works I am concerned the tire pressure monitoring system will not work properly once I swap the wheels. What if anything do I need to do to make it work? Thank you.

Inside each rim on your RR there is a tiny sensor/transmitter that reads the air pressure in your tires and sends the readings to your screen. They are either held on by a band that goes around the inside of the rim, or, they can be a self contained unit built into the tire valve itself. Bridgeport-Schrader first introduced them to the market around 1999, however, I understand they no long make them. If you change your rims, you won't have this function, unless you fit aftermarket sensors to the new rims, but they come with a different display unit. There are a number of companies that make/market these sensors, Dakota Digital is one.

Bartec makes the ones for the RR. You can buy sensors and have them in ALL your wheels if you plan to switch back and forth, but they have to be programmed to work with your truck using a proprietary programmer (so you can't get 'em working at home w/o dealer help).
Just swap over the sensors from the first set would be my suggestion.

I'm not familiar with the Bartec sensors, however, my guess is that they are built into the tire valve in which case, trying to remove them will result in damaging them. A complete new set of sensors will have to be bought to fit the intended rims. Purchasing these from LR will not be cheap.
