Default Tire Question

I went to Costco to get (245/75/16) all terrain tires for my 00 disco. I didn’t realize that they would only mount the 255/65/16 (Costco policy). Costco did say they would sell me the tires (245/75/16) without a warranty, they refused to put the on. I assume it’s because of the rim size. Does any one know if I can get 245/65/16 all terrain tires? Is it really unsafe to put a smaller tire in a bigger rim?

Take the rims off and bring just the rims to them. If you have a Discount Tire near you they beat Costco's price and mount them without hassel. You want the 245/75's the others will look stupid and the 245/75 is the perfect size for an unlifted DII. Good Luck.

Go to Discount tire, they will take good care of you and do the fre rotates for less then Costco.
Costco's guide line is for their liability only and does not mean that a larger tire will not be safe.
