Default tire suggestions for 3" lifted RRC

Hello all, I just finished my RTE lift on my RRC. I now need tires, & I'm looking for size suggestions. I am now leaning towards 255/85-16's or 285/75-16's.

Any pictures or links would be greatly appreciated.

Looks great, with those 2 choices I would go with the 255 personaly, but I think the 285's would give you a smoother ride on road!

For sand and/or mud driving, I'd go with the 285's. But for hard packed, or rocky trails, I'd go with the 255's. Depends on your driving conditions, as well as your driving style. Just like the choice of brand, and a/t vs. m/t.

Yeah on rocks the narrow is better IMO, but for a smooth ride on road the wider would take the shocl/bumpe better. But for what I do and where I drive I really prefer the narrow tire

Thanks everyone.
I found a good deal on some 235's for now so I'll start there... move to the 255's later.

I have 265/75's on my '91 with just under a 2" lift. Good balance of width and height.

I would recommend the super swamper truxis M/T in the 255/85, I run them with 2" spacers and Old man extra heavy duty springs.

Harry,
What are you going to do about axles and or diffs to handle the extra stress, stock axles won't take the stress.

Won't take the stress of 235 85's? He doesn't have anything to worry about...
