Is this tire size 305/70/16 too wide for a DII with a 2" lift?

IMO.. Yes anything more than a 285 is gonna be too wide.. you would need wheel spacers so you dont rub

Not sure how much lift the OME 2" lift gives but with a 33" tire you will need to trim the sliders about an inch front and rear. If you don't have sliders yet you will need to trim the plastic sill covers the same.
You will also need to trim the stock front bumper if you haven't already.
You will also rub on the radius arms at full lock but who cares?
Edit; Get a 3" lift, you know you want to.

I agree. 3" is the way to go.. Its not as much of rough ride as I was told, with no HD bumpers. Im going the 32" tire route. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! Not to mention the 3" and the 2" are the same price!

i am running 265/75/16s on my 3" lift. During the week she runs on the stock 18s and the car looks goofy, but come the weekend, the 16s sit just about perfectly on her and i didnt have to trim anything.

With the 85s that i had mounted on there before, there was a little bit of rubbing and gas mpg was awful. that and i was very concerned when wheeling about my spider gears...

I have heard of different configurations, I don't have a HD bumper yet, but will someday.

DD2-First, nice switch on the avatar. Second, I am really getting confused by all the tire talk. I am running 32.1x10.8 Nittos (275/65/18) I have dealt with my rub issues in front but the tire shoulders are rubbing/getting cut by the wheel arch when articulated. I am running factory Hurricanes with no spacers. What's up ?? Do others lower the "stops" on their rear axles to keep the tires from getting up into the wheel well ? Should I just go ahead and add 25mm spacers so the arch contacts the tread instead of the shoulder/sidewall ? You seem to have the no bull advice ! Thanks !

LOL! Thanks I'm a girl and need to change my shoes with my mood! It's my weekend look!

Let me ponder that for a min... (do you have a lift?) I have been up and down this road....I'm no expert (keeps the flaming to a min) but from what I have gathered....

It all starts with those darn Hurricanes...and the tire size in relationship to the lift or no lift. if you alter any part of the formula you get rub (and crap from you buddies or me). Before this thread gets out of hand, let's say ..... you need to trim (wheel wells - bumper) if you stay in this configuration or go get a 2-3" lift. If you have a lift, get a trim on that rub area or get spacers.

You have a big afro you are trying to stick under a basball hat...something is going to stick out. get a haircut or a bigger hat.

Good joice. You will rub at full lock on the front radius arms. You can either turn the steering lock bolts out or do like I did and don't sweat it.
