That's the Krawler that Hank referred to above. Like I said, I have no 1st hand experience with it but it dominates the pro scene & is VERY expensive for the unsponsored weekend rock crawler. From what I hear, the sidewalls are indestructable.

If the road manners on the TSL were better, I think that would be the ideal tire. The Trxus tires are nice off-road, but don't get the grip like a TSL.

I can't wait for this new BFG!!!
Hank what did you think of the Interco's Trxus on the road? I have heard they suck monkey nutts on the road and that if I remember right that they sometimes can't even be balanced properly by a balanching machine.

Everyone I have talked to that is running them switched over from the BFG AT or MT's and love the damn things and say that even though their ride comfort isn't as good....the offroad advantage to these tires over the BFG MT are hands down a better offroad tire...but they wear quickly in lots of highway driving.

does sucking some dude's balls sound attractive to you?*

so far all i can say is that 31x10.50 BFG ATs are far superiour to 3 235/75 BFG Long Trails (all season) and one bald 235/70 Michelin XPC (or whatever Mich comes with these trucks).

*not that there's anything wrong with that.

BFG A/T's, I think they are the best AT! I have been using them for a while now on my Jeep and I love them, for my Rover it will only be MT/R's 255/55/19 (yea i know 19's are big) Im trying to find a 16" that will fit the L322.

No it doesn't Kevin, that's why I thought it was use in the context of something being no good. But on re-reading the posts it appears that may mean that the product is good. But whatever turns you guys on I suppose.

I will tell one tyre I had that sucked, they were Interco Thornbirds. Found a sucker to buy them though and that paid for two of my Simex.

I think in Canada it's a term of endearment.

I've got the SS TSL LTB's 34x10.5-15 Bias plys. Very good in VA so far; great in mud-pretty good on Va rocks , not so good in snow/ice.
Got Michelin Cross Terrains? on the street RR. Seem pretty good-

I wish that SS TSL Radials came in a few more sizes-I have 33x10.5-15 TSL radials and those are actually pretty nice even on road!

i thought of one thing i cant stand about my BFG ATs, that lame "rim gaurd" or whatever its called. the raised strip of rubber that goes along the edge of the rim to protect it from curbs. when you air down it can push the bead off of the rim and can let dirt and mud get inbetween the rim and tire, letting it leak slowly. or worse, poping the bead off the wheel. i got a crap load of mud in the bead at hollister last weekend, Keptin had the same problem with his BFG MTs. if they still have those cursed things the next time i buy tires, i may have to look for something that doesnt have them.

For 120 a tire I couldn't pass it up. I got the unlimited coverage on them as well so I can tear them up.

And I am running the generic version of those - the Remmington Mud Brutes for about $100 a tire. I have over 35K miles on them - good mix of on and off road - and they still have quite a bit of tread left. For that price, I was expecting to replace them in about a year but I am going on 2 years now. Pretty damn good tire and I'll keep using them until she becomes a dedicated offroad rig...then time to ship in some Simex.

I am surprised you (SCSL) have a negative report on the Nitto's. I have run BFG's AT KO's, Goodyear ATS's, Goodyear HP's and these Nitto Terra's and I love them. Granted, the the ATS's and BFG's were on my Jeep so I may be a little biased I wanted to keep the 18's on my Disco and was VERY limited on my available selections, and I have to say I am very pleased. Although, I will admit that I do not wheel my Disco the same way as you do. If I had 16's then my selection would have been different. BUT, for a multipurpose vehicle, these work perfectly for me.

I'm not really dogging the Nittos, and clearly there is subjectivity in any tire review. I guess all I'm saying is, if BFG ATs came in the 18" wheel size you need, would you still have Nittos or run the ATs? (honestly)

Honestly? That is a good question. I loved my BFG's and they served me quite well. BUT, I always like to try new products and for the price, I would have kicked myself for not trying the Nitto's. For what I am using them for now, they more than serve my needs and I do not have a single complaint.
