Hi JC....JohnC has GBR rear axles and I have RT rear axles. The stock gears were not to bad and we are waiting for RT's front axle/cv's. They should be available in a few weeks. These are going to be "offroad only" tires. They shake the heck out of the truck at 75mph and they flatspot something terrible. Even worse than the superswampers I used to have on my j**p.

What sense does it make that you can ride down a road in the US with boggers but not with jungle trekkers ?? Or vice-versa in OZ ![]() |

You might like these tires from Interco (Thornbirds) - similar, street legal and affordable...

The Extreme's are awsome tyres. But yeah it's odd, they are legal here in the UK, but the boggers (availbale as a remold but same tread) aren't?
I've got the Jungle Trekker 2's in 33.11.50.R15 - AWESOME tyres, espcially in the mud. I've heard they tend to split apart a bit too easy for rock crawling, but the tread pattern is hardly designed for rock crawling. In the mud the Jungle Trekker 2's are the best typres I've ever perosally used. And many fellow Land Rover owners here in the UK have said the same thing to me after having had a go with them on my Discovery. They are also quite tolarably on the road as long as you don't drive like a twat.

Somebody commented about these tires awhile back and stated one of my favorite quotes. It was that these tires "have axle snapping traction" I dont know why but I found that a great quote and whenever my friends start to rave about what ever tire they just bought I ask them, Does it have axle snapping traction?
But I do hear that they are that good, poor drivablilty characteristics would be more of my concern rather than getting called out on non DOT spec tires. |
