First off, will a metric sized 265/75-16s fit on 16x8 steel wheels? *edit* nm, looks like they will.
I am looking at buying steel wheels, or at least one to replace my damaged alloy. There is procomp, trekoutfitters, and atlantic british which all sell them. If I shop, they are around $50-$75. Those of you that have steel wheels...where did you get them and how much did you pay? Comments, etc. are appreciated. I have a Disco II, so I believe I would want a 16x8 wheel....and of course in the DII bolt pattern. I was thinking of 4-4.25" backspacing on the wheels....any thoughts?

I got mine on Ebay. I think you have to catch a new auction and try to buy them now by sending an offer to the seller. I picked up a set for 200 shipped. Granted it was parcel post and took foooooooreeeeeever. I think 200-250 shipped is fair. Also buy the NATO style accorns for the steelies. The stock lugs will work but look uber gay.
The 265/75/16 will fit on steel wheels. I think you should go for a 16x7 instead of the 16x8. If you can go for a 15 inch because you will have more tire options. BTW I like the "Back to the Future" effect.

I have four OEM steel wheels that are far better than the aftermarket cheapies- $75 each! They were factory take-offs. Used for a month. They also can use the Land Rover centre caps which are kinda nifty. Same wheels as these (which are $145 new)
(wheels are silver, tyres are Destination MT's in 265-75-16) ![]()

Well now I gotta question:
255/65 R16" will these fit on my wheel that used to have 205/80 R16" tires on the wheels? I think it will, but I'm not sure. ![]()

Sorry dude.
If the rim is 16" then any 16" tire will fit. Now the issue is whether the tire and rim will fit in the wheel well and allow suspension travel.

Well the tires I'll be getting are almost 31" tires but no quite. If I guess-t-mate the tire width is about the same as my current ones. But we'll see soon...

Always go for the narrower rim size for the tyre, Particularly with tubeless tyres. The wider tyres on the narrower rim will take side knocks a lot better a lower tyre pressures rather than knock the tyre off the rim.
