Default Will these tires fit?

Two months ago I ordered some 245/75/16 Dayton Timberline M/Ts. They were on back order then, and still on backorder now. Today, after hearing they were/are on backorder for another three weeks I changed my order to a 265/75/16 Dayton Timberline M/T. I've since cut my front spoiler, and expect a lift by the end of this summer. Will these 265's fit a stock DI with the front spoiler cut off?

From Our Tire Information Thread:
32" Tires
265/75/16: possible to fit without lift. minor rubbing.

This is the specs from the Dayton Website:
MT265/75R16
Tire Diameter: 31.9"
Tire Width: 10.5"
Rim Width: 7-8"

You have to push out the rear fenders a bit and slightly trim the inside of the air dam (tires will touch when turning the wheel).

They will not fit wihtout a lift. Even if you cut you will not be able to go off road at all without tearing up aluminum when you articulate. Since you bought them, just keep them until you lift your truck later in the summer. You will definately need to adjust your steering stops as well.

265/75/16's are 31.6" They will NOT fit without the lift. Even with 2" - 3", you will still need to trim. If you don't, like Steven said, you might tear up the body - or in my case...split the tire! Search dweeb's tech section for some pics of proper trimming. Make a template first so both sides match. Mine look like crap but then I cut 'em on the trail with a cordless sawzall...

I did not adjust my steering stops b/c when I am offroad I want that extra 1/2" or so...yes the tires sometimes rub but going 1/2 mph isn't going to hurt them when turning under tight conditions. Just learn to adjust your onroad driving accordingly.

James,
Do you have a D1 or a DII?
My DII with a 3" lift will handle the tires without trimming but I did give the steering stops a halh a twist to stay off of the radius arm on hard turns when off the road.
D1's will require a lift and trimming if you are going off the road, 245's slip right in with no problem.

I must have a magical Disco then, mine don't touch.

Let me rephrase my first post, they will fit if you push out the fenders but you won't be able to wheel the truck. Once you get your lift you'll be able to take it off-road.

LOL! With a 2" lift I had to trim the rear fender/quarter panel to stuff the 265/75/16 MT's. It ain't purty b/c it was done on the trail...

I think the MTs will stick out a bit more (the lugs). But you are right, if wheels w/o a lift the tires will touch, I just thought he wasn't going to wheel the disco till he got his lift.

X, instead of spending your money at petting zoos why don't you invest in a pair of sliders or something ...

John,
I think Steven has decided to spend some of his money on his truck, between brakes and u-joints, the animals at the petting zoo are going to starve.

You're all bastards! The whole lot of ya! LOL! Actually, I'm in the middle of getting a new business off the ground. Once it is on solid footing I will be getting sliders and diff guards. I know, I know, it's something I should have done a long time ago but with 3 kids, life happens!
