Here is the information posted about the restoration:
Date(s): Sep 20, 2008 - Number of Volunteers: 100
Help WRV restore forest habitat and reduce severe erosion in Left Hand Canyon, impacted by years of motorized recreation. Over the past four years, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers collaborated with the Forest Service, Trail Ridge Runners, and Walsh Environmental Services, to complete the first four phases of an award-winning restoration project benefiting hundreds of acres of forest habitat and downstream water quality.
In 2008, we will build on our success by closing and restoring thousands of feet of severely eroded spur roads on lower Fireman's Hill. This begins our next exciting phase of work that will eventually restore the entire Carnage Canyon stream corridor, preventing thousands of tons of sediment each year from eroding into Left Hand Creek. Heavy equipment will prepare the site. Volunteers will seed multiple areas, apply erosion fabric and construct erosion preventing structures. End of day Celebration!
