U-Joints Discovery II's are prone to u-joint failure on the front driveshaft after about 60k miles. This is due to the fact that Land Rover made them non serviceable, and positioned them directly below the AC drain plugs. If these fail, you could risk a high speed destruction of your transmission and transfer case, and worst, possible loss of control while driving. How to check: [Someone needs to come up with a good description for this] Fixes: - Have the dealership replace the current driveshaft under warranty, only problem is that this will still be non serviceable and fail after a certain amount of time. - Buy a new, double cardan serviceable driveshaft from Great Basin Rovers or Tom Woods 4x Shaft - Rebuild your current driveshaft with serviceable U-Joints (U-Joints are Napa #344, Centering Kit is Precision #617) [Rebuild directions or link]
