Default 2001 range rover regrets

I bought a 2001 Range Rover from a friend to help him out and now I am having the following problems:

1. When first started the message "tracktion failure" and "gearbox failure" appear. These also occur when the truck is shut off.

2. The service engine light comes on and then starts flashing after driving a few minutes then when driving the goes back to staying lite then starts flashing again.

3. The previous owner took the navtec cd out and now after getting the cd back the nav cd constantly ejects the cd and the there is no volume from the radio/cd/tape even though all show as being on (shows the station name, song being played,etc...).

When I first got the rover the supspension compressor went out, spark plugs and wires were bad and the termostat went out. I fixed these issues and now the above is occuring. The truck has 89K miles.

My only regret would be buying the truck to help someone out, but not remembering "let the buyer beware". You should have bought it based on it passed a PPI (pre purchase inspection) from either a dealer or a trusted LR independent shop. If the vehicle is driving okay, but flashing codes, it's probably something that won't be a big deal to fix. If you were hearing drivetrain noise, or it was driving rough, or erratic, then I'd be worried. Some of it could be codes not flashed clear after the previous work was completed. Bring it to a competent indy mechanic with experience in LR, and have all the codes read and a diagnostic done.
