Default Ahoy from Washington!!

Hello everyone. This site has quite alot of info on it!!! I was surprised. My reason for registering is to decide if a land rover is for me. My main concern is the reliability. Anyways, thanks and hello!!

Hello fellow Washingtonian! I just moved back to Tacoma after living in the UK for 14 years. OF COURSE a Land Rover is for you. Reliability??? Well I personaly have nearly 700k on my 109 and she does pretty well. I assume your going to buy a Disco? If so you do need to look for certain years such as the 04'.It's generaly the best Disco on the Market.Or an older series 1 Disco. But there are rust and corrosion things to look out for there.A Land Rover is for the soul...you either want to live out your dreams in one or just want to go to the Mall. If you want to go to the Mall get a GM product. If you want to feed your imagination and be a step above in your automotive tastes....then a Land Rover is for you!

Land Rovers are pretty cool! However...if you want a first car you should maybe listen to your mom and dad. I HATE to say it. Unless you have the mechanical knowledge and cash behind the general maintenance you could very easily find yourself over whelmed. However..you should look into getting a series truck! They are very easy to work on with nothing electronic to go wrong. Cheap insurance and very safe.Pretty reliable depending on what condition it's in. There are plenty on this Forum that would be more than glad to help you check one out if you were interested. The fuel economy would kick your ass though...just something to think about.

It would make much more practical sense to just wait and get one in 3-4 years. but the lure of an all terrain luxury suv vehicle is strong...

Did you call a Land Rover an SUV? Since you're new, we'll let that go.......this time.
