Unhappy Aloha LR2 Owners

Unhappy owner of an LR2 purchased new in Aug 08. I'm seeking info on problems with the driver's seat rocking fore/aft in the track when the vehicle accelerates and brakes. I truly like the vehicle, but hate the idea of paying the money for a brand new rig that has as many problems as this. In addition to the seat, the HVAC fan and various parts have been replaced 5 times...in the shop currently for over 2 weeks and counting! Also had the Adaptive front headlight system replaced. Breaks are loud and creak at every stop. A LR trait I've heard.

I'm a car guy and am very familiar with the historical LR reliability issues. But I did a lot of research and drove eveything in the segment before taking a chance on Rover. To their credit, LR of Honolulu has been a great dealer and is always there with a smile when I bring in my LR2...that's followed by, "now what?" Also had fun in the last LR Wheels event on Oahu. But all the fun is outweighed by these nagging problems. I want to like this thing, but it's testing my patience every time I sit in the driver's seat. Sorry to rain on all the happy LR owners out here. Just having a very bad first experience with the brand.

Sounds like a bad one.Ive had 2 classics and now own a disco 2 and ive only had 1 breakdown in the 8 years ive been driving landys.180k on my 4.2 in my 95 classic and it never let me down.Even all the 4 wheeling i did in her,it took a 70mph hit by a jeep to kill her.
im sorry you are having issues but some bad ones get out.Have you tried to lemon law it?
I heard my whole life that landys were for rich folks because they always break down and cost a bundle to fix.Not true in my case.
But i can fix mine because they are no where near as complex as the newer generation.
,i hate hearing(first rover nothing but problems stories)
As with any vehicle it makes you not trust the brand.Mine was a 05 subie WRX wagon.Nothing but problems.
I will never buy another subaru (STI excluded)
I think you should sell it and get a series III
I wish you luck amigo.
Dont give up yet!!!!

I'm not the type that is easily jaded. I know some cars just come off the line destined to be problem children. Still think LR has a great product and is way nicer than the competition. Maybe I'll get a RR Sport to replace the LR2. That's what I wanted in the first place, but it's too long for my short Hawaii garage!

Hawaii has a Lemon Law which I've already researched. I'm going to approach the dealer about it when they call me to pick up the LR2 from this round of repairs. Maybe that will be the tipping point and I can get out of this thing and into something less-challenged. Then I'll change my mood from sad to glad!
