Default Am I nuts and hello all..

I am an ex Discovery owner about to purchase a 2000 to 2002 Range Rover so I decided to join this group. I was pretty active in groups about 3 to 4 years ago when I owned my Land Rover. The group then I believe was called Discoweb and also SCLR.

I think I am going nuts though because I am about to give up a BMW that in 3 years and 60k miles hasn't had a single problem for a Land Rover (I replaced the motor in my old one at 140k miles!) Why would I do such a thing? I have no clue. I just know I miss my Land Rover. I guess I just miss all the cursing I did in the past. Since trading the LR for a BMW I haven't had to use the F word much. I do miss the oil stain in my driveway. And really, brakes are overrated! Who needs a car that can stop on a dime as long as it stops! I miss the rattle of a sunroof and the smell of radiator fluid on a hot summers day! But then again, my sedan keeps getting highsided when I go off road. It has no articulation and the 2 wheel drive sucks. People also look at me wieird when I have the gas cans and spare tire on the roof of the beamer. So Range Rover, here I come! Please don't let me down, and if you have to please don't do it in the middle of the mountains!

Thanks guys for providing this site. I know in the past I always got excellent advice from people on these sites and I look forward to making new friends....

That could be the best post I've read in months. I missed driving my DII so much, I ordered an expedition rack, baja light bar, and four PIAA's for the Tundra. And I can't think of anything I'd actually put on it. LOL! Welcome back to the dark side of vehicle ownership.

I can't right now. I went backwards in life. After the mortgage crash I got out of the industry and am starting over at an Oracle implementation company. BMW lease is up in april so instead of buying it for 20k I thought I would get something a little cheaper until the commission starts rolling in.

Thank you. I loved my D1. White with black wheels, roof rack and Hella lights, OME suspension. But I was driving a lot for work and after I replaced the motor it over heated again so I got scared and got the BMW with the 4 year all maintence paid!

I figured I would try a range this time. Little better on road and still have the off road capabilty so I can go camping and play in the snow.
