Default Discovery II 2001 Modifications to hydrogen fuel

Hi friends, this is my first post on this forum.

I am experimenting with hydrogen technology -
I want to switch to JUST hydrogen cell, alone, and switch off the fuel being injected into the pistons.
A few problems have arisen which I am uncertain how to deal with...
due to the Disc II 2001's everything being controlled via the ECU - I am concerned about timing and also about HOW to switch over to just hydrogen and no gasoline from the fuel pump and injectors.

1) the hydrogen fires at a different timing - I have the hydrogen cell hooked up via vacuum intake.... so if i do switch to hydrogen, and the gas fires at a different timing, will the ECU automatically adjust to the different timing?

2) has anyone done this at all? if i need to cut off the fuel to the engine, what is the best way to do so? I tried a number of ways - pulled some fuses in the main fuse box in the engine compartment. I also pulled the wires out of the inertia fuel cut off switch. the engine died instantly on the cut off switch being pulled and also on some of the fuses. I am wondering if i have actually cut off the ECU or ignition as well, via relays in the fuses and cut off switch?

any help is MUCH appreciated.

3) I also was told from the previous owner, who ran out of gas twice, that if you do run out of gas with the Discovery 2 (2001) you have to take the land rover to the dealer to have something reset. is this true? or is it as simple as resetting the inertia fuel cut off switch (which i read in another post on this forum)
How could one reset their land rover's if they do run out of gas and the thing locks up?
I would like to play with geting very low on fuel to see if the hydrogen will take over in this way also.

thanks so much for any help.

That's an awesome undertaking man. Good luck. Would love to see photos of the project.

okay. i will put up some pics... gotta get a camera. soon to come. it's a very nice looking standard cream white 2001 Discovery II.
In the meantime, I hooked up a switch into the green and white wire entering into the fuel cut off switch, and tried a drive and switch conversion - basically, got her up to 35mph, and then switched the fuel cut off switch, she died within a few seconds.

I wanted to know, does the fuel cut off switch only cut off the fuel pump? or does it also talk to the ECU to shut down other systems?
