Default Hello from Texas . . .

. . . new to the Board, new to Rovers. I purchased a one-owner 2003 Discovery SE7 with 66K miles on December 14. I live in Cedar Hill, Texas with my four furkids: a male and two female Giant Schnauzers, and a male Miniature Schnauzer who thinks he's a Giant. Hopefully, there's someone in the area willing to guide me with some of the easier maintenance issues. I've been referred to as a tomboy, so I don't mind getting my hands dirty. I don't plan to perform any mods, as I don't plan to do any serious off-roading (although, I would like to learn how to handle my truck off-road) -- I pretty much got this truck because I needed something big enough to haul around my big dogs. Having owned Saabs for the past 20+ years, I'm somewhat used to expensive repairs, although I performed most basic maintenance myself (tuneups, changing out hoses, etc.). I have a Rover learning curve at the moment, but I plan to get up to speed pretty quickly (may even tackle the 60K service . . . well, at least MOST of it). My truck was dealer serviced and I have all service records up until 49K; guess the previous owner went to an indy thereafter. Hence, I wanna get to 60K mile service done post haste. Already had new ignition wires, left and right valve cover gaskets, throttle body gasket and serpentine belt installed; otherwise, truck checked out okay. I have, however, now started to receive periodic visits from the Three Amigos. Hope to get that taken care of, as well as have new u-joints installed soon. Guess that's about it for now.
