Hi all nice site but i need help with p38 - Land Rovers Only

Hi i got an auto p38 rangerover. Its an ausum 4l v8 ex police but eversince i bought it its the auto gear leaver wont go up enough to go into park. All gears work fine it just wont let me select park in 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive.
Does it just need adjusting or does anyone know of anything else.

adjusting the shift cable would be my guess.
