Default Hi Its Northpointboy from Cali

im 32 m from cali . I recently joined this forum and would like to extend my Hi to all Roverholics/Enthusiasts . I own a 2003 discovery II S model Java black

I had bought my baby from Alpharetta Northpoint dealership (one of the best buying experiences ive had ) hence the name stuck

Ive taken the disco on two cross country trips Atlanta to LA being one of them (covered it in 3 days with stops for 7 hours) It handled well considering i had my stuff piled to the roof with only the side view mirrors for checking traffic

ive not done any additions to the vehicle just a rubberized brush guard (sorry i dont know the exact name for it) what the dealer told that it reduces the weight as against an all metal guard. I bought the vehicle CPO with 22000 miles on it and till date ive put on additional 44000 miles on it. the vehicle is real fun to drive im getting the tires changed as they've worn out with last bit of tread left. im getting latitude touring (michelin)

i plan to get a sunroof installed soon. till date the only niggles ive faced is the front door glass which got stuck halfway , headlamps fused, brakes changed.

with all this gas price thing making news i was tempted to sell but i realized these are last of the true offroaders and iconic machines and what id get in exchange for that those puny jap cars or wannabe suvs

my 2 year old simply loves the disco he just doesnt like cars with the exception of an Audi .

but given a choice he likes the disco anyday!! and seems his most cheerful riding in it. when parked in the garage he wont go in the house before first sitting in the drivers seat and turning the steering and pressing each of those buttons at the console.

I hope to make new friends and learn about your experiences with your disco
later
