Default I'm New Too

Hi kids, I am a new Land Rover owner. I bought a 2004 Freelander this weekend... I have no clue about Land Rovers (I kinda' skip, tumbled and fell into the purchase) so I will go check out the reviews of my new toy....hope there aren't a lot of mechanical issues with my particular vehicle. One stupid question I have is how would one go about getting a key? The dealer only gave me one (it was a trade in vehicle - so only one was available). There is a Land Rover dealership about 120 miles away from me (yeah, the closest one) but I have not called them yet to inquire. One key will NEVER do. Hope ya'll don't mind dorky questions from time to time, I am sure to have them.

Welcome to the nuthouse Glinda.
By 2004, alot of the issues were straightened out, but Freebies are by no means trouble free. Hmmmm, gonna go read the reviews AFTERyou made the purchase? I thought only men did that.
Check the local locksmith shops for a key. The bigger ones carry many of the oddball ones like the BMW, JAG Merc types. Dealers will rip you off most anytime you give them the chance.
How many miles on the freak, and has it had the timing belt service ? Very Important.

a freelander was the wrong LR to buy. have fun having your engine crap out and not being able to buy a replacement. the transmissions also like to die prematurely. enjoy your new lawn ornament!
