This is my third discovery, and I've decided it is finally time to join this forum. I am 20 now. My brother and I share a flat green manual disco 1, and I just finished resoring a series 109. After copleting the restoration, my dad finally let me buy my own, which is 2000 disco with all the options. I am very eager to upgrade my own disco.
I have an old series 6 cylinder engine and can't find anyone to take it. Anyone want it? I was wondering if anyone has any disco II off-road parts, (bumpers, lights, racks, tires) that they may not use anymore. I really want to upgrade my rover PLEASE HELP !!! |

hey?! you guys have a link to a buyer faq or a newbie thread? have searched and found squat, i`m looking for a 95 and newer Land rover (i think) i currently drive a jeep grand cherokee 5.9L and want something that is just as capable and as refined if not more so,
so what models should i look at? any draw backs to certain ones? what sort of gas mileage do you get i`m gettin 15 freeway and 12-13 around town....0 mpgs when i floor it... not good when it costs me $5 to go less than a mile...after owning the niner i don`t think i could go to another jeep...i`d be let down... so what does land rover have to offer me? i have my eye on these 2: 1998 Land Rover, Range Rover HSE 4.6. Black w/ black leather interior. Sunroof, Power windows, heated seats, CD changer, new rims. One owner, non-smoker, garage kept, a must see. OBO, ear: 1996 Make: Land Rover Model: Discovery Body Style: 4 Dr Utility Engine: 4.0L V8 EFI Transmission: Automatic and these. 2000 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY,II SE-7 2003 same model as above. am i on the right track here? does any model have locking diffs stock (i.e. like land cruiser)? what axles do these things run? ....bloody hell i need an faq......hahaha well if you guys can point me to an faq and let me know what you think over all about models let me know. thanks for your time .... and answers to these sort of questions should be above the all "important" detailing sticky in the main discussion forum.....it makes you look more concerned with keeping your car clean than using it....just my humble opinion thanks again! |

My name is Jonathan, I'm an Anthropology major(Junior year) at the University of Colorado-Denver. I just bought my 2003 LR FL SE, 50,000 miles in May 2008. So far it's running amazing no problems whatsoever!!! Knock on wood... I'm interested in some light off-roading, since I'm still stock. But that will change here in the future!! So send me a message to set something up. See you around the mountains.

Hi. My name is Nesha and I have recently bought my very first Land Rover Range Rover. It is a 1996 4.6HSE and it has done 96,000kms.
Is there anything, apart from the mad fuel consumption, that I need to know about my latest addition to my car collection. |

whats going on everyone? I'm new to this forum, but not new to rovers ( especially the classics). My name is Ali and I have been a roverhalic since 1996 ( when I purchased my first 1993 LWB). my story goes like this:
I was in college from 1996 to 2000 ( savannah college of art and design ). As everyone knows, when you are living in the south you NEED a mode of transportation. I went from having a honda accord, to a acura integra. All in 96. Then i sold the integra and was looking for a sturdy vechile that i will keep for the rest of my college years. A friend of mine told me to consider buying a range rover. Mind you i thought she was referring to the 4.0/4.6 version, so I said " no thats not going to happen", I felt the 4.0/4.6 range rovers were to be driven by computer techs, cause if anything on the computer fails a computer tech would be better to fix it then an average driver...LOL!!!! I then took her advice and started to look into the previous models. I went to range rover of charleston,SC and test drove a 1993 LWB and fell in love instantly . Did i purchase it then??? NO, I went to ATL and purchased a white one. Sad to say i bought a lemon: . I learned a lot about this vehicle from spending hours upon hours at the mechanic shop. Fast forward 1yr............... Savannah had a bad downpour and my street was flooded ( about 3 to 4 feet of water....my house was at the bottom of the hill ). I was sick and was on my way to the doctors office. Me being only a year into driving this rover, im thinking this truck can go anywhere...so what do i do...i try and drive through the water ( without a snorkel), and flood my entire vehicle . Good thing I had GEICO insurance.....They came and assessed the damamges and gave me full value for the vehicle ( R.I.P. - the white rabbit )...with the money i then purchase another rover ( same year, color, and model ). This vehicle lasted me the rest of my college years. Upon completion of school ( 2000 ).. I returned home to New York...but sad to say again...I had to leave TWR 2 behind ..... I could not afford to keep the vehicle and look for a place to live and look for my career all at once. Fast forward August 2008...I purchased my newest rover.... a 1993 roman bronze county LWB with 82,000 on the clock![]() . This one will be my project car because I will replace the old wood kit with the burlwood trim kit, replace the existing leather seats with dark brown/light brown trim ( kinda like the holland and holland interior), change all of the existing speakers to high powered speakers and keep the box in the back. I will add a brooklands body kit to the vehicle from rimmerbros.com, the blaupunt radio will still be there, my headliner will be light brown suede instead of cloth, replace the springs with the original EAS suspension and lastly I will add on the guards and side steps. mechanically the vechile is in tip top shape. This is my third Rover and should something happen to "GOLDIE", I will be on the hunt for another classic Range Rover that is. The story you just read is from a BONAFIDE ROVERHOLIC. ![]() pics coming soon |

Lots of great rovers on this site. I have been considering a rover for years and believe I may have found one.
I have been a vw syncro vanagon owner for about 9 years and tired of being passed on the hills. I live in Santa Cruz, CA. surf city! |
