Hey all;

My name is Chris and I live in Scottsdale Arizona. I have a 96 disco 1 that I am modifying as finances allow. It's my first land rover and I love it so far. I appreciate the info that I've already acquired by reading your posts and hope to contribute as well.

EY-UP ! My name is Matt. I joined a short time ago but have not said Hello. SO.....Hello, Im 33, Married,3 kids (if you dont count the Rover),Auto Mechanic by trade but got sick of fixing Mini Vans so I now restore and hot rod old/classic cars. As far as Rovers go I passed my first driving test in the UK in a Army Rover that was way older than I am and have been a Land Rover nut ever after. Operated all kinds of Rovers until I left the Army and moved from the UK to Canada in 96 and have been Roverless up untill last month when I obtained a 1994 RRC SWB.The good times are back ! (that is the good times are back as soon as I fix it....again).This forum has been lots of help to me finding parts/info/ideas so Thanks to all.

A friend of mine talked about this site and I've been just looking around and have decided to register. I had my 92' Classic about 2 1/2 yrs and have enjoyed every minute of it. My wife and three kids wheel as much as possible and love every bit of it. My truck was very stock when we first bought it and have done many mods to it and still going strong (gotta love slush funds ) Most I've fabbed and have learned alot the way and lately have been looking at the flex issue so any suggestions welcome. I'm grew up in the San Fernando Valley and now live in Athens, Georgia and will be 35 in Sept.

Hello All

My name is Brian live in Newark DE. I signed up because someone left a note on my windscreen about your website. I have a 94 Classic LWB, slighty modified with a Bearmach Blue spring conversion kit. Work in progress just to keep up with the small fluid leaks. Will try to catch up with some of you on a run or two this summer.

I have restored and owned Rovers since the early 90's. I started with an original 1960 Series 2 109 Station Wagon with deluxe bonnet. It was delivered to to Africa as ordered LHD by the photographer that used it as his "office" for 5 years. He then returned with it to New Mexico where he traded it a short while later for an 88". Pete Rose (not that Page Ranking) bought it and owned it until '93 when I bought it. In the interim he had a mechanic fail to close up the radiator and the engine siezed in '69. So being an engineer, he designed and hogged out an adaptor plate from a block of aluminum to mate a 289 Ford to the LR trans. Dana 60 narrowed with chromemalloy inners as he was tired of breaking axles.

So then I bought a '92 LSE in Cornish Cream about '96, drove it until a couple of years ago when a new Sienna decided he didn't like the color red on stop lights and tapped me doing about 40. He lost. My (then) fience' and I drove away. He got the engine relocated into the interior. Did I mention this happened 10 days before my wedding and 2 weeks in Kauai?

So a week ago I found a '95 LWB with 88K on the clock in (oddly enough) Cornish Cream at an insurance auction. After my succesful bid, it was delivered from LA up here in Sacramento last Friday, June 29th. I will be done with the repairs to the passenger side headlight assy and wing tommorrow, then I intend to swap out the BW for an LT230. It already had a medium duty OME setup put in it I would say in the last year or so. Still has the compressor and tank, so going to setup OBA soon as well.

So other than Rover stuff, married, 2 daughters 10mo and 3 yrs, I work for a software publisher as an artist/animator/designer. I love gold prospecting and live in one of the better places to "play". In fact the LWB will make an excellent dredge hauler. Might as well get there in style and comfort as well as ability.....

have a couple noob questions if someone could help me out on them id really appreaciate it....

I just bought my '01 Discovery and it already had an OME lift on it, I noticed on the front drivers side coil spring that the model number on the spring read OME751 which i looked up and it is the heavy duty spring for a D1...and there was a different model number for the 2nd series discovery on the website listing the model number...is it possible that there is a mistake that needs corrected or are they pretty much interchangeable???

Also, there is a K & N intake on it which I have read that many users dislike and recommend getting rid of...if so is it too late to make a difference or is it worth going back to stock and how would I go about doing that....?
