Default my name is...

Hey Guys. I introduced myself before somewhere on here but I posted it in the wrong spot. My name is Benny, I live in Brooklyn, and I have a 1990 classic. I also have a broken camera so I can't post pictures. Anyway, I love this baby in a way my wife describes as "unnatural". This site has been both helpful and entertaining so I just wanted to give a shout.
thanks
and cheers!

My turn... finally. I've wanted a Rover for years. My folks are on their third in just over 10 years and my father swears by them. The 'father' in question is both a design and mechanical engineer of 30 years and he routinely restores, rebuilds, and races a number of high-end autos as a hobby. I'm sure he's on the site somewhere. That he trusts the Rovers for my Mom and for himself speaks volumes!

So Rovers have been a dream of mine for years. I'm a middle-management type in the expensive D.C. market. Money's tight and the "modern suburbia" townhouse my wife, daughter, and I live in leaves no place for buying used and repairing/maintaining the vehicle myself. New cars are the best option... especially with 40,000 miles/5 years maintenance included. It's how I ended up a Subaru Outback owner for the past six years. With the Outback, I got a new car that required almost zero maintenance but still had all wheel drive.

About a month ago my wife rolled my '06 Outback L.L.Bean Edition. I loved that car... really. Never mind the fact that every old lady and her grand mother had one or that "off road" meant pulling off on a soft shoulder and gettting out safely, I liked the car none the less. The story behind her rolling the car is rather fun... I can post that, with pics, later.

Anyhow, Allstate totaled the car after a long battle leaving me open for a new car. I looked at the Nissan Murano, the X3, the RDX, and finally my Father suggested the LR2. First test drive I was hooked. The second test drive (which included the small "proving ground") and I was sold. The LR2 was identical in price to the loaded Murano or the base X3. Even the RDX was close. After testing the competition, I bought the LR2... just hours after the insurance company blessed the paperwork.

I have 1000 miles on the LR2. I love it... so far.

Since the LR2 forum is rather under utilized , I guess I'll hang out in the lounge. Prepare yourself folks... here comes another nOOb.

Default New member says 'hello!'

Hello: My name is Sanjiv and I am a new member here. I do however deal with other websites for the Land Rover and did not know of the existence of this site till today. In any case, I own a 1997 Range Rover 4.0SE as my virgin Land Rover experience. I am close to Albany NY and school and research here. The RR is probably not a school kids vehicle and I am learning it by the day. However, I love it so much that I am planning to go in for a RR sport. I am probably going to sell the 97 inside the next month for $9000. Let me know if you find anyone that needs it. Now, hello everyone and I hope I can get some info here on the new RRs now that it runs a Jaguar engine (or the BMW one - should read more). Good to be here.

Hello, I'm lionel and I'm considering the purchase of a disco in the near future. I'm from Louisiana and am planning on using the truck for daily driver duties and some light to moderate trail riding.

Been looking at a weekend fun vehicle. Something to turn a wrench on and enjoy. Thinking about a series model. I currently drive an 05 Mini Cooper S Convertible. Gonna post in the series section with some specific questions but will enterain comments here.

Hi, I'm new to this board and to LR's. I just bought a 99 Disco for my wife - got tired of hauling stuff around in the trunk of my MB 300CD or Sarah Jane, my '74 TR6 for her - needed a truck.
Nice little LR, dark metallic blue with tan interior, only 100K miles, clean and well maintained.
