Default I've had my Disco for a while but...

Hi everyone! I'm glad to be here. A little about me? I bought my first LR a while back. 1999 Disco II, ACE, SLS, the whole bit. Got a great deal on it so I couldn't pass it up, even though everyone I know said they are crap. Naturally, I didn't believe them. It's probably one of the best cars I've ever owned. No problems [except for that nagging passenger rear air bag that drops the rear end], 100K miles right now. We use it primarily to haul the boat to the lake on weekends. Would love to get into the 4X4 stuff, but really don't have the time. Great to be here. I finally found a resource for my questions.

Hi Keith,

I agree, I bought a 99 Disco II a few years back because I got such a good deal on it. Same story, everybody told me they were POS(not the case), I agree, best vehicle I have ever owned. Loved it so much we bought another one. It too has been very reliable.

I thought perhaps it was just luck, but now having two, I am convinced they are great vehicles and do not relate to people(including ones on this board) making jokes about how unreliable they are.

This is a great forum and good to have you here.

Later

C

Welcome to the insanity of Rover ownership. I also have a DII, and love the vehicle like a son, (though I beat him off road like a blonde, red-headed step-child), LOL.

Thanks everybody. I'm glad to be here. I'll post some pics of the Disco when I can. For some reason, I don't really have any. Don't know why. Thanks again!

Welcome aboard! What part of Cincinnati you from?
I went to H.S. in New Richmond OH. (About 30mi S.E. of Cincy, on the river).

I have a DII also. They are GREAT trucks! Haven't had too many problems with mine (all minor). If you take good care of it, it'll last you a long time.

Now, go out and get it dirty! Mud is RoverBling!

I live in Blue Ash. I'm originally from southeastern Indiana [about 1 hour from Cincy]. They are great trucks. I've only had one problem with mine since I've owned it [rear air spring]. I'll be replacing that this week.

My Aunt lives in Blue Ash, small world.
I have the same issue with airbags. I'm going to put new height sensors in mine. If the problem continues, I'm going with a shock and spring swap.

I've had my '99 Disco for years and I know when it comes time to part with it I won't replace it with anything other than another Disco.
