Default New Here

Hi, I dont have a LR YET, but hopefully I'll have one pretty soon. Im hoping to get a Discovery, not sure what year. If anyone has any information on a year or model that is any better than another that would be much appreciated (maybe one year wasnt as good as another year, or one model is better or worse than another). Im a pretty active member on the FJCruiserforums. I had an 07 FJ with a 3in lift, 33's, winch bumper with superwinch and soooo many more mods. So any info would be awesome.

Thanks,
Josh

Strike 1....We won't hold your FJ against you...

Look into 04's. If money is an option 99-2000 and some 01's (I think) have a CDL installed. Steer clear of 03 if possible, some had oil pump failure. If the engine has been replaced on an 03 then it's worth a second look. Keep in mind you can't lock up the center diff in the 03's. I don't 'hard core' wheel so a CDL was not a big factor for me. GL, and let us know what you get.

Thanks for the info. There were a few 04's on eBay that I had my eye on. Also, what axles are in these things? Is it possible to do like a Dana 44 or 60 conversion if the stock ones aren't as good as 44's or 60's? I pretty much got spoiled by the FJ with the rear diff lock and the ATRAC. Do the Disco's have rear and/or front diff locks?

Discos have a center diff lock for all 4 wheels. Not to knowledgeable about the CDL or diffs.
