Hi, my name is John Farrell and I live in Straffan, Ireland. I have a 2001 Disco II 2.5dsl automatic. It is actually my wifes car and she loves it but it does demand some attention and work to keep in on the road. I use it for taking our dogs (and kids) out for walks and also use it to tow a bayliner speed boat. It is a great car to too damn complex so there is always some little problem to deal with. I found this forum when searching for sunroof motors and to try and diagnose a engine mgmt system fault - but more of that later. I guess this a good site to kick around ideas and to try and learn more and understand the joy and funstration of owning a Land Rover. Best regards John

Hi John, and welcome to LRO. When you mention 'engine management, I assume you have a Td5, as the 300 Tdi had no real management system. There are many UK members who may be able to help, but, regretably, you won't get much info from us Yanks. Another forum you may enjoy is the Rovers North Forum (Rovers North BBS Forums - Powered by vBulletin) The situation over there is much the same as it is here. While working in the UK, I spent many enjoyable weekends (and dramaticaly less expensive) in Ireland. It was such a pleasure to hop a quick flight from Heathrow and hop out in Shannon, for a quick run down to Aghado. We had an Au Pair from Youghal, with whom we remain in close contact as well.
