Default New LR Owner - What an idiot?!?

Well, that is one of the things that has been said of me. Let me list the ways....
  1. What an idiot!
  2. What were you thinkiing?
  3. You did what?!?!
  4. You do know that's British don't you?
  5. Why?
  6. You ARE an idiot!
  7. Don't you know they're expensive?
  8. Why?

It sorta sounds like that when I tell people I bought my 2000 Discovery just this week. I have been lurking and reading on the board for a bit now and thought now that I have taken the unmistakable leap of faith into the world of LR, I should introduce myself.

I live just south of Atlanta, GA - 40 mins from airport - on a DIRT road!!!! That's a plus! The short story is this - I bought a 00 Disco SE7 with 135k on it with a, at this point, thought to be blown right head gasket. It all boils down to talking extensively with the owner and the mechanic who did the first diagnosis and then driving 350+ miles round trip to drag it back home. Thanks for all the info here. I look forward to sharing the details in the next day or so. I won't be able to get on the pc again until this evening so don't think I'm ignoring anyone.

ps- FYI. I paid $3500.......hopefully, I can't get too hurt with this deal.

Blown headgasket or burnt valve. You'll do both eventually anyway. Good luck. I'm hoping it's not too bad.

Good fair, deal for the price. Hope it works out positively for you. If not, you can scrap it for parts, and make more on eBay than you paid for it. A lot more.

Yeah, um I am looking for a new driver side seat, how much you want for yours?

Also, I need a new horn button, left side, oh and a driver side driving light.

What is my bill up to? Thanks.

I am kidding.

Awesome price, I do not see how you could go wrong.
