Default New to me 04 DII

Hello, I'm a little late in the introduction department and for that I apologize. I was unaware I needed to post here first. So here goes, I just bought a 04 DII, well in Dec, and finding and reading these post was a great help. I'm not new to LR, I've had 96 DI, 94 D90(should have never sold), and a 93 RRC, but the DII I was completely not aware of the changes, upgrades, things to look for and not to look for and for this I want to thank everybody. I think I have made a great choice, just need to get some kinks out from PO. I live in a in a northeast suburb of Atlanta so plenty of trails.

Thanks Andy

Posted this under "Cost of 16" Rims" also.

What are you doing for lift kit, springs, shocks, etc. and where are you buying from? I am planning to go with OME medium and steering stabilizer.

What sliders are you getting. I am about to go broke outfitting my 03 SE.

Default Springs and things

I found the 16'' wheels on ebay for 200 with center caps, as for the springs and shocks i have been leaning towards the RTE's with Bilstein shocks although that is not written in stone. I know a lot of people are using the OME and are happy so it will probably be a "gametime" decision. lol...

I alresady put a stabilizer on fro OME, i think 76 bucks, and the sliders maybe from slickrock but I have heard he is not producing them right now, but I did come across Mofab, and they seem to be REAL reasonable money wise and look stout.

Welcome aboard from only 70 miles south! Glad to see another GA person!

Check this out... SOLAROS Forum - Index
This is Southern Land Rover Owners Group. Lots of contacts in the metro area.

If you are looking for a winch mount bumper, let me know. I am having one made by a metro Atlanta company right now. Hope to be ready in the next week or so. Each order is custom made per customer's specific requests. They have made hundreds for local folk. Not a shadetree deal - It is his real job! Lucky joker! Looks very nice from what I have seen. I will post pics when I get it mounted!

I am also looking at a 2" lift when I get rid of the other vehicle. "Cash only is the only real rule." Let me know what you do. I am thinking RTE spacers with the SLS for the rear and OME springs up front and OME shocks all the way around.

Micah

Thank all of you for the welcome.

Hey ultrrunr its good to have a good southeast showing! I actually am a 2 time member to the SOLAROS, I had a D90 that I bought new in 94 and wound up selling it in 02 or 01, but anyway I am still kicking myself for doing that but thats the way it goes. I joined back up last month and ready to get back on the trails, I was always envious of the Disco folks on the trails because they were all climate controled and I was left in the elements lol... so thats why I went DII this go round and so far very happy, just a few things to get fixed but other than that running real good. Just need to save some cash for the upgrades (easier said than done lol...) but it will happen.

YES YES YES send me picks of your new bumper!!! I had moved that to the bottom of the list due to the pricees of the ones on the market so I am very intrested.
