I'm new to this forum..
My name is david, but I go by Bic Parker (my pen name). I just bought an LR3 a few months ago. It is my 3rd Land Rover with my previous one being a Disco (my precious Red Rover, that I turned in for a new one after 8 years). The LR3 is named Kanga (and yes, my wife's Freelander is named Roo).
The LR3, Kanga, has a couple of interesting options/accessories:
A snorkle (or Elevated Air Intake, EAI, for the formal name)
A rear mounted tire rack (woo hoo! I put the tire where God intended, and that is NOT underneath the truck).
I will have pictures soon...

OkieRover,
Don't let perceptions of where I live deceive you.. hehehe.. born in OKC, raised in Shawnee, graduated from OU.
XtremeMarine,
I understood from the dealership, who installed the tire mount, that this was only the second one in the US that has been installed for the LR3's. It is a fairly new accessory (but should have been standard in my opinion). In what crazy world do you go off road with the tire underneath the carriage? I have had too many flats in west Texas mountains to risk changing a tire under such circumstances.
The snorkle was a lark, sort of, but it was pointed out to me that it helps keep road dust and dirt below the intake as well, which is why I kept seeing snorkles all over the place in the outback, I guess.
