Looks like a great truck! Finding parts won't be very difficult at all. As far as taking a cross country trip in it?

Easy vehicle to cross country in. Just put it on a trailer and tow it. LOL! Seriously, they're great vehicles, but for a trip of that magnitude, you'd better bring a good tool set, and lots of spares. Their reliability at that age can be questionable, unless you r father/son project is a complete restoration. The nice thing is that everything can be serviced in the field, and rebuilt/replaced using MacGuyver ingenuity. Good luck.

RoversNorth in Vermont will have everything, and I mean Everything, you need. And to NY, your looking at only 1-2 days shipping time.
