Default Newbie here ! This one from Germany.

Hello people, My name is Ard and I'm a Land Rover nutter living in the west of Germany close to the border with Holland (15 mins. from Arnhem)
I've got a Range Rover from '73 with a 4.2 V8 on carbs running on LPG.
Discovery mk I dashboard, +2 inch springs and a few more things.
My wife has a Defender 90 with rollcage, +2 inch springs and running a 300TDI

We're currently trying to get the 90 registered in Germany but that's not as simple because of the modifications. They're not excactly keen on that here unless you've got the proper paperwork but we'll see what happens.

Even if we can't drive it at the moment it's still handy to have it around

Willkommen froyn-dīn im sure things will work out for you, im sure there they must be real strict on emission standards etc if thats the case it would be helpful to get your vehicle certified before you approach them for registration
all the best!!

Thanks for the welcome people !
The emisions aren't really a big problem unless you want to drive around a 'emision zone' which we don't do.
We'll have it registered as a light truck and then the emisions don't really matter.

We're looking into moving to Canada (Alberta, Calgary) in the (near) future but we haven't found a job yet so that might be a while.
The Land Rover should both come with us ! They're over 15 years old so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. (famous last words... )

I'm selling the thing as we speak...

It's €5000 though and that's without shipping. That's what it's worth in Holland as it's road tax exempt. ( a saving of about €1500 per annum and yes, that's the amount I'd have to pay)
Unfortunately I can't register it in germany without undoing all the mods I've made on it.
