Newbie Introduction
Hello to all, first a little about myself. I spent my younger years as a Mercedes Benz/ Porsche Tech. I actually started with the Mercedes grey market flood in the early eighties, then I went to work as a Porsche/ MB tech for many years. Then into the machine shop business for six years, and then became a state officer with the Florida DOT. I left that after six years and relocated to NC. I am single w/ no dependants, I don't drink or smoke, I run 7 miles a day, and I big game hunt, play electric guitar and go to church weekly. I am also pursuing some state LE jobs. About five months ago I started researching the Land Rover vehicles with the intent to purchase one. My search led me to this forum which gave me some good insight on different LR's. I went back & forth to a fully loaded 2004 Discovery HSE w/ low miles to a not so optioned higher mileage 2006 LR3, to a bit higher mileage Range Rover. You can probably grasp what I was wanting to spend. Well, after extensive research and phone calls I decided to go with a 2004 Discovery SE w/ 28,128 miles, one woman ( school principal) owner. I actually spoke with her husband in reference the vehicle. He indicated it was never off road or damaged. They traded it in for a 7 series BMW in Wilmington, NC. They actually did the european delivery gig. Anyway, I drove out there the other day and traded in my Isuzu p/u towards it. It was the real deal, close to showroom condition. The only other 2004 Discovery I found even similar was in Mission Viejo LR dealer in Ca. It was tonga green w/ 18,000 miles. Anyway I feel I lucked out, as you can tell from the picture. I'm going to close this introduction so I can go the specific Discovery forum and ask a question. I hope you all go there and read my question. Anyway, God bless all of you, and keep it safe.............007
