Default South African

Hi , I am new to your site....but love all the info!!

Started ten years ago with a Freelander 1998 1.8 Petrol (yes I know...got some professional help on a regular basis !!)Then after three years when a Pajero IO passed me on an uphill ....Bought a 2001 Disco II TD5 XS manual...loved it...bought a lifestyle...life has never been the same...then enter the LR3....rushed to the newest Land Rover dealer and bought the second last Disco IIa TD5 XS Manual in the country!

The last Disco II was made on the 28th of April 2004...mine was made on the 14th!! It is the most stunning off roader...not a single problem...all the nightmares of previous Land Rover was by-passed (hold thumbs).

Between the two Disco's we have done:

African Ivory trail,Kosi bay east coast trail,Southern Mozambique (Bilene etc),Magadigadi pans,Savuti,Moremi and Okavango delta,Caprivi strip -Northern Namibia,Tuli block - Botswana,Traverse of the Lesotho mountains,Lebombo transfrontier recce with Land Rover...

Just short of time and money to do more. Have the Land Rover tattoo on my shoulder to show my total commitment to the brand. Love the "truck" love the people who drive it!!

Thanks for the invite! May take you up on that.

We will be spending about a week near Cape Town where we will be visiting my wifes gran, and then driving north with my father-in-law to Zim.

Not too sure of the schedule, we want to get to Kariba as quickly as possible...

Will be there in the first week of Sep, have some friends who lived in Dubai and returned to SA in the past 12 months running 110 Defenders, so will be catching up with them before they set off for Namibia.

Will be staying at the Intercon in Sandton, Jo'burg from about the 3 Sep if you want to meet up for a pint or three

I wonder if Brian is still around and active?
