Unhappy very sad DISCO II owner

Hi all,
My name is beth from Denver and I have an awesome Disco II-2000 LR. I was just diagnosed with epilipsy (Grand Mal Seizures)and will no longer beable to drive. This has just broken my heart because some of my favorite times is getting into my car and just getting away.

I need some advice. All the repairs are being done before I sell it (the hood latch was malfunctioned) all fluids are up to date and I have the title. Do you have any suggestions on what to do next. I am single/42/ and I admit to gullablity at some times in my life....(ok I'm working on that) here are my specific questions:

it has 112,000 miles on it but no mechanical issues
new tires
it is 4wd ( i live in denver and mountains are my friend)
it is white with all tan leather interior (ok-im crying)
everything works, has its manual and it ready to go....

now what? how should i sell it to get the best deal...
my friends tell me to find a man instead, but can a man take me up a mountain without flinching?????? ok enough said...i really want 9k to help with my medical bills...do you think that is possible...
i sign off now with the fact that i am moving from my Land Rover to the City Bus:....ok...now i'm really off to cry!
thanks for you help and advise...
respectfully,-always a DISCO Lover.....

Beth; first of all, let me say how sorry I am to hear of your diagnosis. It truly will bring a major change to your life. But on the bright side, since you're a Rover owner, I know you're the type of lady that will face this hardship and look it straight in the eyes. And never back down from the fight.

To answer your question; the best way to get your asking price, IMHO, would be to put the ad up on the local Rover club board. Ask FunRover on here about the Colorado clubs. Land Rover owners are a tight knit group, who take care of their own. If anyone local is in need of a DII, a fellow Roverholic will give you the fairest price, and someone knowing your condition will not fight you if your asking price is fair.

Best of luck.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis.. I disagree with XtremeMarine about the local rover club to be the best... For a 2000 w/ 112k miles, you're looking closer to 6-7k within the rover community... To get the most money, advertise locally, throw a sign up in it, newspaper, etc.. people think that LR's are worth a lot more than they are. Good luck.
