Default 88' cab on 109 body

Hello Gents!

40 days off...... OHHHH yeah. I have a 109 p/u and want to put an 88 cabin on it. I saw a picture of one but never talked to anyone that has done it. Lots of spares here. Spotted a good roof. Any ideas?

What I would do is cut exactly 21 inches out of the 109 and then you will find that the 88 cab will fit!

Or maybe just buy an 88

Or maybe I`m missing the point.....................

There isn't any reason you can't do it, as windscreen and door mounting area are the same and the tub/roof joint is perfectly flat, horizontal, level, whatever. Where it gets funky is the rear door. You can use an upper liftgate, but how do you plan on sealing up the gap between the bottom of the roof and the inside of the tub? And, What do you get when you're done, apart from a bitsa truck? what good will a 1 1/2' foot open space do you? Why not just get a pickup roof?

Default Little o' this Little O' that

Right gents!....... It gets so hot here in the summer that I need to give the little ones some protection when banging around in the dirt. I was thinking of putting the roof section off of an 88 on the pick up. Then set the kids up with some seats. Your are right..... It would be like a club cab P/U.... I was thinking of cutting down the rear door so the monsters could get in and out that way...... I will keep the truck cab and switch back when we ship out of here..... I saw one in LRW, just a shot from the back. Any more advise?

How about this?

Take off your roof, back window and 1/4 round windows.
Put the roof of the 88 on & put only the side windows of the 88 on. leave the back part open.
Here heat is definatly a considiration so the open rear will just increase the airflow through the cab.
Dust might be a problem though.
