Default greetings from south Israel

HI you all
my name is Tsur sadan i am from south israel(the desert area).
for the last 18 month i am in a process of repair an old land rover.
it is a 109 series III station wagon, 1976 model, 2.6 litre 6-cylinder engine.
i auction it from the army,it did not run for some years.
at last it back to life, after a long time and many mechanical adventures.
in Israel the old land rovers are very rare, and no much informaation are available.
i hop to get some answers for my land rover questions on the forum.
it is my first time participate in a forum,so excuse me for being slow.
thanks Tsur.

Hey mate,
I have one of those beasts, almost finished restoration......and I think it will be almost finished for a long time. I was told before I purchased mine that the 2.6L is as thirsty as hell, but I actually find it quite ok, compared to an old 4L toyota. Whats the price of fuel over your side of the globe. Over in Oz we are looking at about $1/liter.
If you are having any probs, be sure to ask the guys on here, they seem to know everything about them.
Good luck,
Dick

Tsur,
Welcome aboard!

As others, I have a 109 to be restored, have some projects around the house to take care of first as my last rebuild (which was also my first one) took four years...and the wifey isn't willing to let the house go to the dogs for another four years...

Hi Dick
if your vehicle is not thirsty your engine is too small.
fuel is about 1.25U.S. $ liter in Israel and it is keep going.
the diesel is cheaper (i drive a 2.4L diesel toyota pick up).
i will not use my for a daily purpose it is too expensive,it is my fun.
we live in the israeli out back.
regards Tsur

Hey mate

More than likely your front axle will be a bit different ie brake cylinders etc. Make sure you check when ordering bits

I got caught with this once
Cheers
Ben
