Default Hardtop to Softtop and tailgate coversion ?

I currently have a hard top 69 IIa, and want to find a good soft top or bikini top + a tailgate - any recommendations on where to get the best options ?

I assume this can be done relatively easy ? Not sure however, and if the tailgate conversion can be done in a way that allows a relative easy swap back to hard top / door ?

appreciate any advice here.

Since you have an 88" the bottom lugs for the tail gate should be on it already. So all you will realy need is a tailgate and the appropreate hard ware. That, I can help you with. As far as the soft top goes I have a friend that might have the hoops you need. The canvas part can be a bit pricey though.

ok great, will be looking for a tailgate - see some on Rovers North - but if you have a line on something I'd appreciate it. As for the hopps and canvas, I am most interested in a bikini type top with a cover for the box as necessary if I can find on the US side. I see a supplier in the UK, but very expensive t ship...

thx

Anyone have a Tailgate kit for sale for an 88 IIa ? The price on Rovers North seems pretty high, and I wanted to check other options before going there...

PS: still looking for a soft-top bikini type that would work also...

thanks

I don't know what they cost, but Rocky Mountain make new ones. Have a look at
Rocky Mountain Parabolic Suspension

Couldn't see any reference to them doing tailgates on their site...

Anyone know the best place to find a talgate kit for a IIa ? I know Rovers North has all the bits, but they seem a little pricey, and wondering if used is a better route...

Click on Greg's link, then scroll to the bottom of the page to find the tail gates.

Page must not be coded right for a mac, as the bottom of the page I see :

"This Spin-On Oil Filter Adapter allows you install convenient modern spin-on oil filters on the 2.25 litre diesel and petrol engines on Series Land Rovers."

I'll log in on a PC tomorrow and see if that helps, thx

Just got at it from another link I searched on the web, for what ever reason the link above does not show scroll down far enough to see the tailgate, however this one does:
Rocky Mountain Parabolic Suspension

thanks, mike
