Default Heee heee, it's out there, scheming, planing..

I know she's alive, I thought she was just an old Landy, she just needed my help to get back into shape. I can do that I thought, I can! I CAN! Hee hee. It's not her fault she blew that head gasket, she's 34 years old and hasn't been loved. She'll like new parts, I'll take her new parts, that will please her, we'll be happy then, we can run and play through the fields and trails.
But ohhhh no, no no no no, she has other ideas, she's scheming, she plans her next move with frightening effectiveness. I fix the running and start checking the mpg, she pops the float off her tank unit. I get the timing right, she dumps the fluid out of the clutch circuit. We go to and fro, I fix she sabotages.

I thought we'd finally hit a trues on Monday. She started well, as we set off to Block Buster, she accelerated with enthusiasm, I was smiling, I was happy, the fuel gauge worked, the clutch pedal was good, no fuel smells, just a little exhaust popping but I can live with that ahhhh life was good.

I got my movies and set out for home, reaching the house I put her into neutral, left her engine running and opened the garage to put her away for the night, I got back in her and pushed the stick forward to select first and thats when she played her ace. I remember it as if it were yesterday, that feeling as the stick moved forward and snapped clean off at the base. I swear I heard her giggle a bit I SWEAR AHHHHHHHHHH. I WILL WIN THIS BATTLE she will not get the better of me!

I sit here typing this and I can feel her, out there, with her gearstick on the passenger seat, planning her next move, waiting, planning, planning and waiting. She knows a new part was ordered within the hour, ohhh make no mistake she knows but I'll win yeeeesss I'll win you wait and see hee hee

Haha, that was entertaining! You've gotta rub her the right way. That usually does the trick.

Teach he a lesson, clamp a set of vise grips on the stub and driver her like that for a little while (and to add insult to injury, put the new stick on the passenger seat so she knows you have it.... )

Oh, but wait!..... Let us haist not, in casting the 88" in such traitorous virtues of ill and demonic intentions.... In first light it may well seem that there with in the lair of your darkened garage layeth the spawn of darkness incarnated in birmabright & zinc..... Seething in the aroma of petrol, oozing glisened elongated black droplets, standing in stillness guarding, dare venture the hidden portal of the under world and sceaming it's next expenditure to be inflicted.

But might we ponder with reflection the "location" where this suposed calamity came to happen..... Yes !!! Seems your mighty 88" Solihull mechanical steed having been pressed to service again,, out upon a perilous journey into the world.......Where "untold dangers" no doubt lay in wait in the to and fro trek to Block-busters.........Though yet the series maintained the fortitude to delivered you to the sanctuary of home,,,,,, yes !! to the very bosom of the doorstep before succumbing to the shifter failure......

"That in the circles of Carolina series owners is a Win !!!"

Might well fix-up a bowl of popcorn, tall glass of ice tea, slip in a movie and give celebration.

Cheers
Dave

Ah Sir! I believe in your erroneous ranting there do be some truth and I may have cast her as a demon in haste.
For once the floor pans were up I was able to see not only the target for which I was braving this dark dank night but! the foreboding beginnings of that evil of all evils that undoing of many a brave and faithful Landy that brown creeping death that is RUST.
So I now truly believe that as you quite rightly make point of, she did infact deliver me back to the castles keep before shedding the shifting pole AND the purpose was indeed to bring to my attention this most sneeky of foes before it turned her floor in the Cheese of the Swiss variety, maybe she is happier than once I first thought to be back in the saddle as it were, and dreaming of one day bounding through fields and dales far from the mediocrity of Block Busters..... and so do I

Uhh,

Other than the "Dungons and Dragons"-esq speak(aka "dork talk"), i understand completely.

My shifter broke off in my driveway when i was living in Uganda. For some reason i ordered a new one from RN and had it sent to me. This was right before i found the many rover graveyards that were in that town.

I tore her apart to replace the shifter, which was rather easy, and found 27 years of grime.

Luckly enough for me i had a gardner and his un employed cousin was living on my compound. I gave him a gallon of simple green, various scrub brushes, and a few scraping tools. A week later it looked new, and i had the shifter in too.

I love Series Rovers....

JC; see what happens? This is why I insisted that you did not name your new series after a female! See the results...

Long live Wilks, and let you two forever be happy. lol.
