Default Interior Ideas?

Out of curiosity, I'm not a purist by the way so please be gentle, I'm currently looking at the deconstruction / reconstruction of the dash on my Series III. I'm adding a CB and a stereo, and I'd be interested in throwing in a volt meter, maybe a tach, who knows.

Wondering if anybody has any photos of what they've done?

I assume you are talking about your series 3.
Don't you alredy have an ammeter? A volt meter and ammeter are rarely used together.
Underneath the vinyl covering on the steel frame of you lower dash, in the depressed area in the center, are three 2 1/8" prepunched holes. All that is necessary is to cut the vinyl away and mount you additional guages there. There are several guage styles which pretty well match, such as VDO.

Get a cubby box and mount the stereo inside of it. I'll post a couple of pics later.

Mine is the same way. Tuffy box in place of the center front seat. If you are planning on leaving that top off, you want to be able to secure the stereo anyway.

As for the dash, my lower toast. I was thinking of removing it altogether. Has anyone done that?

we got a fiberglass headliner from LaSalle that has a cut out for a head unit and two 5 1/4" inch round speakers...works good for keeping them up and out of the way of any leaks

I was going to go that route after seeing your build tread (which was VERY nice btw), but since I plan on keeping the hard top off the truck 1/2 the year, I would loose the stereo and speakers. Just something to keep in mind...
