Default Just bought a 1970 Lan Rover and need parts

I need a good Carburater, intake manifold and exhaust manifold. I am in California, (San Diego). The engine turns over but it was missing the above mentioned parts. Has lots of lights a 8500 Warn winch and extra gas tanks in the rear. 65K original miles and no rust any where so I am kind of excited about the find. Paid $3500 which a friend said was too much but this is a beaut of a rover. Dull paint but I like it that way!

If it has been sitting around without the manifolds on you will most likely have rust inside the bores, valves, etc.

Default We need pics!

Always nice to get another Series project to watch. Post some pics so we will know what you are working on! All of those parts are available from the various vendors. Shop for best price. We like our Weber, but we rarely get cold temps here. Keep us posted,

Did you buy it from a guy named Joe?

Anyways...check out Bayou Rovers (google it).... he has a TON of neat little tricks, including a chevy carb that works better than a LR carb... and for cheap too!

If you have trouble finding his site, just PM me.

That is the rochester BV it works very well. There is info on BP's website about it- they have rebuild kits and jets too. Another US option is the Holley 1904(?). They came on International Scouts and I have seen them on a number LRs- reports are that it is a good carb.

I have an old but serviceable 34ICH Weber on an intake manifold, plus a brand new exhaust manifold and fitting kit going spare if that helps.
Let me know if your interested.

Neil.

A Weber is a better alternative as a replacement than pretty much anything else. I have stacks of used manifolds and new ones- depends what you want to spend.
