Hi all,
M first post.
This is my 1963 Series 2a SWB Diesal which i purchased on saturday!
It's got series 3 wings and front and dash and gearbox apparantly.
It tops out at 48 mph! you have to shout at the passanger at speeds above 30mph. It also jumps out of second gear lots! On the plus side, its tax exempt and has 6 months MOT. It doesn't have the roof rack in the picture.

Ok, I worked out how to post a picture (I can work a spanner, but not a computer). Plenty more bigger pics on the site (www.nickslandrover.co.uk).

Thanks for the comment about the site, V8; that'll please my wife. Helena built it for her portfolio when she started her web-design business, and she has updated it since. Once the vehicle rebuild is complete, a photographic journal will be included.

It looks like you had a good time on that trip! Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer places in the UK that we can drive off-road, and the government is planing to restrict it much further. It looks like we'll only be able to use private sites, but the local councils keep refusing permission for those too. There is a very strong anti-4wd political element in the UK.

If anyone wants a small site built, let me know - Helena specialises in personal and small business sites.

Hey Snagger we have the same problem in Australia with the CALM office they keep closing tracks as well and it nearly is getting to the same stage as the UK

I supose there is a good side to global warming - when the roads have all been washed away, we'll all be able to smugly drive around refusing lifts to all those biggots that tried to destroy our hobby!

Heres some piccys of my 1970 SIIA, 2 1/4 Diesel. Got a few battle scars but they are made to play not polish.

Enjoy, sorry for the quality there off my camera phone.

Cheers

Default Wow

I’ve said it before and after SIIA-Pilot’s photos I must say it again.

Holly Mollie!

Those don’t look like just “truck pictures” – They look like they should be in Land Rover advertisement or catalog. At the very least the truck and scenery should be made into picture post cards. Absolutely GORGEOUS -- both the vehicle and the surroundings. Thanks for sharing.

Here is my old lady the pic is not very good I will do more sometime .

A word of warning to all you future land rover owners my rover was sold to me as a series 2a from 1968 .

after I got her home and investigated much further I have discovered that she is actually a series 3 with a false identification plate, so do check all the details before you buy

Here's a picture of my '95 Classic 300Tdi (soft dash manual). So far, I've fitted a heated screen and front seats, refurbished the lighting, gearbox selectors, rear suspension, an alloy top tailgate, sorting out the central locking, fitting a new genuine radio to replace the aftermarket unit, and a lot of anti-corrosion work (including waxoiling the whole underside). Love it to bits, though Helena and I still prefer SIIIs.
