Here it is again g7jtk. Yes; thanks, the colour scheme does look good I think, although plain sand looks good too. I chose it because everone elses is green! It also means I can have a sand colour chassis and wheel arches.

Mine isn't as nice as yours inside but I was going to paint it blacl just for ease and fit some carpet to help keep the noise down. The bulkhead could do with a bit of work also. Camo paint in a town stands out more anyway so long as it's not Bagdhad.

I think all over black would be good. So would some carpets. I was toying with the idea of tarting mine up into a station wagon and spraying it Bonatti Grey, like the Tomb Raider specials. The brush finish is so much easier to maintain though!

I would like to get a Station Waggon tpo for mine with frrward facing seats & belts, electric fan, sound proofing and could do with a new canvas roof. My tilt looks different to others (the seam is missing over the side windows sot the sides look untidy if I roll them up)
I did the painting with a brush then the last coat witha small roller |

This is my first post to this forum. A great site, thanks for the invite to join you.
This isn't nearly as RUGGED as some of you have, but she served me well for 175,000 miles. edit: Its an older photo - she does have the bruch guard, and expedition rack now, and the Kharmann Ghia is restored. |

Here’s a picture of my truck last spring on the trails in upstate New York. It’s a ’74 Series III 88” with a 2.4 Benz diesel conversion. New frame, parabolics, etc., etc. Lots of fun and very reliable.
jim Here's another picture in the snow. Last edited by Mercedesrover : 09-17-2004 at 12:46 PM. Reason: Added photo |
