I am looking for a reliable source to transport a functional but currently non-running SIII (Gobi) door-to-door from Bethlehem, PA area to De Pere, WI. I have checked out some of the national transporter companies online already, but they seem a little pricy. I also checked out U-Haul and by doing it myself it was even more. Problem is I don't have a pick up truck to haul a car dolly so I have to rent both the truck and dolly, which jacks up the cost. Does anyone know a reliable someone or a company that is reasonable in cost that could get "Gobi" from PA to WI?

I have used A-AAA, and they are most deffinately NOT reccomended. I have used Dependable Auto Transport, and they are good, reliable, but I have no doubt theirs costs have gone up because of fuel.
I used a gypsy to move a car from Annapolis MD to CT and they were very cheap, and quick. I have looked everywhere for the Tel number of the broker who all the gypsies get their jobs from and can't find it. Go to any of the used car dealers who buy at auctions to staock their lots and ask them for a broker. There are lots of options to the big haulers, and you can save alot of money if you do some investigating.
We have used Stewart Transport for most of our car shipping needs. Never used them for movin the rover though just had them ship our kit car to us and to have the body sent off for paint. Their web site says they'll work with you on a solution for your shipping needs so who knows, maybe a call is worthwhile? I can't recall what my dad said the costs were though, sorry.
Thanks for the info. I emailed Stewart and never got a reply. I'll avoid A-AAA, and gypsies make me a bit nervous. And Smokey Mountain, no, unfortunately, I don't have any friends ... But thanks for the offer anyway.
I used mike turner car transport to get my series 3 109 from Tennesssee to Albanuy NY it cost me $650. That was 2007. They were great they even arrainged a pick up from the seller and worked around his schedule. I don't know if they're still around but thought I'd toss the name out there.

Thanks everyone for the info so far. Much needed help. I emailed Mike Turner Transportation (I think he's in GA). Waiting for a reply. Had a couple good ideas from the Studebaker Drivers Club too - Thanks Studeclunker.
